Be part of a special Tauranga’s triple crown of Triathlon – a three-year series of global triathlon events in Tauranga from 2026 to 2028 and help create a lasting legacy for the Bay of Plenty.

Triathlon NZ is preparing to deliver a three-year series of global triathlon events in Tauranga, with events taking place in November each year.
These events will bring athletes, supporters, officials, and visitors from around the world to the Bay of Plenty - a chance to host world-class sport while showcasing the people, places, and community spirit that make this region so special.
To support this, Triathlon NZ is establishing a structured volunteer programme that will grow over three years. By 2028, the Grand Final is expected to require 3,000+ work-ready volunteers, so this is about much more than event-day support. It is about building a strong, connected volunteer community and a lasting regional legacy.
Volunteers will be supported throughout the journey with training, clear communication, strong team culture, and a rewarding event experience that recognises the contribution they make. The programme will also help build confidence, skills and leadership.
Whether you are looking to give back, meet new people, gain experience, build skills, or be part of a major event on home soil, there will be a place for you in the team.
We’d love to hear from you if you:
• live in the Bay of Plenty or elsewhere in New Zealand
• are interested in travelling to Tauranga to volunteer
• are over 16 years of age
• want to be part of a welcoming team helping bring these events to life!
